Career
Highlights: Named Honorable Mention All-America by AP as a junior and
senior. As a senior, earned All-Southeastern Conference First Team honors
from AP and coaches and was runner-up for SEC Player of the Year (coaches).
Took a step up the ladder each season, earning Third Team All-SEC honors
as a sophomore, Second Team nod as a junior and First Team as a senior.
Leaves Florida ranked eighth in scoring and sixth in three-pointers made.
Is the only Gator to record 1,500 points, 750 rebounds and 150 three-pointers.
Was a three-time All-SEC Academic pick and earned Verizon Academic All-American
of the Year honors for basketball in final two seasons, the first Gator
hoopster to win the award.
Senior (2002-03): Led conference in three-point shooting percentage (.474).
Led Florida in scoring and was second in rebounding (6.1 rpg). Topped team
in scoring 16 times and rebounding 12 times. Recorded three double-doubles,
including 16 points and 12 rebounds vs. both Maryland and Miami. Had big game
against Kentucky, pouring in season-high-tying 25 points (on 11-of-14 shooting).
Also scored 25 points against Tennessee, 24 points vs. Georgia and 23 vs. Auburn.
Junior (2001-02): Ranked
second on Gators in scoring, rebounding (7.2 rpg), three-point shooting percentage,
blocks, free throw shooting percentage and double-doubles (six). Among conference
leaders, ranked fifth in field goal shooting, seventh in rebounding and 10th
in scoring. Topped team in scoring and rebounding a dozen times each. Scored
career-high 31 points against South Florida. Matched Mississippi State’s
team total with 20 first-half points. Ripped down season-high 14 boards vs.
Georgia.
Sophomore (2000-01): Started
17 of his team’s final 20 games. Led Gators in rebounding with 7.6
rpg, which ranked fifth in league. Topped team in boards 16 times. Recorded
team-best 10 double doubles, good for third-best in SEC. Scored season-high
22 points vs. Alabama in SEC Tournament. Averaged team-best 16.5 points in
SEC Tournament on .632 shooting from the floor.
Freshman (1999-00): Was
key member of Gators’ run to NCAA title game, shooting .591 from
the floor in NCAA Tournament, second-best mark on team. Also led Gators with
.471 three-point shooting in SEC Tournament. Scored season-high 14 points
vs. VMI.
Strengths: A consistent shooter and rebounder, he brings great effort to his play every game.
Personal: Was high school valedictorian (out
of a 350-student class). A business administration major.
